Physical and Chemical Characteristics of Soil. Data on selected soil physical (bulk density, texture) and chemical properties (pH, ammonium, nitrate and bray P, total C and N), measured adjacent to LTER permanent plots for sampling plant biomass and species composition. Sampling is done every five years, and specific watersheds sampled have varied over time, as a result of new watersheds and experimental locations being added.
